L.I.A.R Analysis of Brief

L - What does each of your products need to contain:

- Masthead (short, memorable magazine title presented as a large, dominant icon to be noticed)

- The main image (full page) must be an MCU (face and shoulders only) and the subjects face must be able to be clearly seen, and make eye contact with the audience.

-Bright colour scheme with clear house-style of two or three main colours.

- Thumbnail images that illustrate other articles

- Anchorage

- Price & barcode

- Main article / feature advertised must relate to the the main image.

I - Perhaps you could pretend that you are producing a magazine for an existing publisher, whose other publications have something in common with yours / are totally different to yours (gap in the market)  

-I could look at other college magazines
-I could also look at magazines in general for some basic ideas in terms of colours and layout

I - What message / moral / values do you intend your magazine to convey about your chosen College and your target audience?

-I want to show that Wyke is a place which is easy to make friends and a place where everyone is equal , I also want to show that wyke is a great place to learn , better yourself and socialize

A - Briefly outline the target audience

-My audience will be Current Wyke students and people who are intrested in joining the college such as people who have just got their GCSE's and left school also people from other colleges would be Welcome. I wouldnt want loads of text in my magazine because this can become boring espescially for teens so i woul;d have quite a lot of pictures.

R -  How do you intend your target audience / College / and the students of that College to be represented? i.e. positively / negatively / accurately / stereotypically / unconventionally? etc.

-I want the college to be represented in a positive way to make people want to join the college

Using DTP and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in medium close up plus some appropriatley laid out text and a masthead. Additionally you must produce a mock up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.

I will be making a college magazine for Wyke , it will include a masthead which is a short , memorable magazine title presented as a large dominant icon to be noticed. My target audience will be current students at the college and future students who are looking at the magazine to see what Wyke is like. I will represent the college in a positive way as it should make people want to come to to the college.
